September 27, 2010 - New Park Envisioned for Olympia By next summer, Olympians will be enjoying a new, 4.8-acre park off Henderson Boulevard near Yelm Highway. Phase 1 which is scheduled to be complete May 15, will include an irrigated grass playfield, a little larger than a football or soccer field, Summers said. A tennis court, paved trails, swings, landscaping, restrooms and a parking lot round out the park.
Phase 2, which has not been scheduled, will include a basketball court, a shelter and playground improvements. One nice feature of this neighborhood park is that the pedestrian trails that are in the park are also interconnected into the large trail system that serves the whole Briggs Village area.
