Move to the inside:

This is where the real cleaning must take place. In this market, you cannot afford to not clean and keep your house clean. This has to be a cleaning like never before. Buyers are expecting the home to sparkle. If you don't feel you can do it, hire a professional for this.

• Shampoo carpets
• Clean tubs, toilets and showers and hang fresh towels
• Oil squeaky doors
• Fix things like broken hinges and light switches

Ask your friends and neighbors

• How does the house smell?
• Would you buy this house?
• How much would you buy it for?
• Is the decor dated or up to date?

Update and Repair

• Kitchens and bathrooms give the most return from an updating
• Granite countertops are the way to go if possible
• Get rid of any dated appliances or bath fixtures - time to switch out that avacado fridge and pink toilet. You are competing with model homes!
• Finish any unfinished tasks or anything a buyer may ask for.
• Neutral paint colors and decor
